The parents of R.J. Carver were both from Caswell, North Carolina. R.J.\'s son, James, enlisted in the Confederate Army in Tyler, Texas April 1861. James was living near Brownsborough, Henderson County Texas at the time of enlistment. He was a registered voter in Texas 1867. Brothers of James; John, Levi, and William also migrated from Pickens County, Alabama to Henderson County, Texas.

Spencer &.). He married DORCAS LUCINDA LOVE September 13, 1848 in Pickens County, Alabama, daughter of JOHN LOVE and ELIZA MCDOWELL. She was born January 26, 1826 in Alabama (Source: Texas Widow's Confederate Pension Record, A6019.), and died March 24, 1918 in Coldspring, San Jacinto County, Texas.

We certify that we did on the 26th day of March A.D. 1860 at the request of the following Brethren and
Sisters after the proper examination did on day and date above named constituted them into a church.
The Primitive Baptist faith and order.
Distinguished by them the name Mr. Olive Church
Constituted upon the Articles of Faith by the union Primitive Baptist Association

After the constitution of the church sat in conference and opened the door of the church for reception of members.
Received by experience and baptism. Jacob R. Laymance.

L. G. Ashby, Moderator, He was the first pastor for the church.
The second Sunday and Saturday preceding was set aside as regular meeting day.
The church was first located near Rock Hill.

Notes for GREEN CARVER:
Green Carver was the other grandfather of Mary Edna Bailey. Green was also a Confederate Soldier of the Civil War. He was a private in Company I. Seventh Alabama Cavalry. Green Carver, also a Pickens County resident, would have been 33 years old in 1861. Green Carver donated the land for the Cemetery at Liberty Church, Pickens County. Green Carver and his wife Martha are buried at Liberty Church Cemetery, also the burial site of Mary Edna Bailey.Cavalry
