Articles and Transcriptions

THE VERNON PIONEER (1875-78) First newspaper of the county.  Submitted by Veneta McKinney.  Veneta transcribed all 18 issues from microfilm and we are extremely grateful to her for spending a ton of time to transcribe them and for submitting them to this website!  added 6/20/2004.

Please note:  Veneta obviously spent a great deal of time to transcribe these newspapers and she beautifully formatted them using Word.  Unfortunately, I cannot convert these documents into a web page format which retains all of the formatting elements of the original transcriptions.  If anyone has any tips for me about converting and retaining these formatting elements, please let me know!  Thanks!  Allison Saxman, webmaster
