Woodall Cemetery

Choctaw County, AL

by Sarah Mozingo, March, 1998

This cemetery is located north of Pennington, Alabama. I am told that at one time it was a very large cemetery with both white and black sections. The black section is still in use and fairly well kept. Regretfully, there were only a very few of the white graves, out in the woods, that could be identified. It is said that when American Can Company bought the surrounding land, many tombstones were pushed over the hill by bulldozers.

NOTE: This Tombstone stands alone quite a distance from the Cemetery, but must have once been a part of the Cemetery. If so, it was even larger than we first thought.
