Choctaw County, AL was formed December 29, 1847. Located in the southwestern part of the state, it is bordered by these Alabama counties:
Clarke (southeast), Marengo (northeast), Sumter (north), Washington (south)
and these counties in Mississippi:
Clarke Co., MS (west), Lauderdale Co., MS (northwest), Wayne Co., MS (southwest)
