Vaughn Family Record
John W. Vaughn, of Bogalusa, La. Who has assembled more information about the Vaughn family than any one I know, states that he found a Joe Vaughn in the census of 1700 in Stickes Co., No. C. Susie Pulliam was born in what is now Robertson Co., Kentucky. It is his assumption that Joe Vaughn, being young and adventurous, joined one of the expeditions to the West. Possibly one of the Rogers and Clark Trips. In passing through Kentucky, he met and fell in love with and married Susie Pulliam. My father told me that his Grand-parents came to Alabama from Tennessee. I think that statement does not take any thing from Johns assumption. Cousin Stella Vaughn, of Nashville, Tenn. says her grandfather (who was also Papas grandfather) came to Alabama from N. C. Joseph Vaughn married first Susie Pulliam.
Children:
John Pulliam Vaughn born Feb. 22, 1804 and died March 22, 1890
Pinkney Vaughn married a Miss Stanley daughter of Isaac Stanley in Wilcox Co., Ala.

Their Children:

Emma Vaughn died about the age of 18
Mattie Vaughn
All of this was written by Mr. William C. Vaughn. He married Evelyn Nettles and Benjamin Vaughn was her great grandfather. It must have been the Benjamin Vaughn born in 1808, the son of Joseph Vaughn the 1st.
